Carson and Colorado 22' Flat Car

During 2003, I scratch built a 22 foot Carson and Colorado flat car in On3 (1:48) scale out of basswood, brass and a few Grandt Line detail parts. I recorded its construction progress with my digital camera and also wrote a 3-part article starting in the September 2003 edition of our club newsletter, the Mail Car.

Here are all three parts of that article (as Adobe PDFs):

Part 1 - Why Were Narrow Gauge Freight Cars Built That Way? (400 Kb)
Part 2 - Let's Get Down To Work (1.1 Mb)
Part 3 - Finishing and Other Details (600 Kb)
