D&RGW Inspired 24' Flat Car (in On3) - part 3
The completed D&RGW inspired 24' Flat Car underframe.
With the decking installed, I then glued the turn buckles onto the truss rods and touched up the rust coloured paint.
As per prototype practices, this car has a total of four (4) turn buckles.
For the brake wheel, I used a #94 Grandt Line 15" Lovsted brake wheel, ratchet and pawl set.
The "B" end of my completed D&RGW inspired 24' Flat Car.
To complete the model, I glued 4 large Grandt Line NBW castings on to each of the two end beams.
In conclusion, this was a very satisfying model to build. I was especially pleased with the overall look of the model and its underframe.
